At the 2022 Thomas McKenna Reunion we raised funds to purchase a headstone for the graves of Hugh and Mary McKenna in the Belfast City Cemetery. We also raised enough for a headstone for their son John and his wife Elizabeth Shanks McKenna.
At the 2022 Thomas McKenna Reunion we raised funds to purchase a headstone for the graves of Hugh and Mary McKenna in the Belfast City Cemetery. We also raised enough for a headstone for their son John and his wife Elizabeth Shanks McKenna.
A small delegation from the Thomas McKenna Family traveled to Belfast in May 2022 to honor these ancestors. We invited other descendants of Hugh and Mary Mckenna who still live in Ireland. This ceremony was recorded and posted on the McKennaFamilyHistory Youtube Channel.
We also hope to raise additional funds for headstones for Hugh's son James and his wife Catherine Doyle McKenna and Ellen Singleton, Sarah Singleton McKenna's mother.

We hope to connect to distant cousins through further research and by comparing DNA tests. Research will be documented on Ancestry.com and FamilySearch.org and we will maintain a customized database of DNA results that have been voluntarily uploaded to GEDMatch.com with notes on how we may be connected.
