Ancestors' Histories

“When we illuminate the road back to our ancestors, they have a way of reaching out, of manifesting themselves...sometimes even physically.”

― Raquel Cepeda, Bird of Paradise: How I Became Latina

Our McKenna ancestors left us no written histories. What we know of them is gleaned from documents they left behind and relationships referred to in these documents.

From period histories, we also learn about the circumstances in which they lived and the events they may have experienced. These histories attempt to help us better understand who they are and how their lives have shaped ours. Other histories will be added as they are completed.

Hugh and Mary McKenna's Children and Spouses
We recently added to the histories for Thomas H McKenna (1844-1910), John McKenna (1840-1911) and James McKenna (1851-1909) and documented the discovery of Samuel McKenna (1802-1875). We plan to expand the history of Samuel McKenna (1802-1875) and write a history for George McKenna (1871-1941).
